God's Sword of Truth - The Word

Steadfastness

By The Holy Spirit's Disciple, Raymond Laginess

Enduring Chastisement....HEB. 12:7...."If we endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?"

Bearing persecution....ROMANS 8:35-37...."Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

Maintaining perseverance....HEB. 3:6,14...."But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end.'

Upholding the faith....COL. 2:5...."For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ."

Persevering in Service....I COR. 15:58...."Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Resisting Satan....I PETER 5:9...."Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world."

Christian Liberty....GALATIANS 5:1...."Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

Having a Goal through Christ....PHIL. 3:12-14...."Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect; but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Discipline....I COR. 9:25-27...."And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; for we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air; but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection; lest by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

Run the Race....HEBREWS 12:1,2...."Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witness, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doeth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Never Give Up....REV. 3:10,21...."Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. (21) To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."
