God's Sword of Truth - The Word

By The Holy Spirit's Disciple, Raymond Laginess

"That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."  (Ephesians 3:16-21)
By faith, we experience God’s power through the Spirit.  All power is granted us (believers in Jesus Christ) by the Holy Spirit.  This power derives from the WORD by the Father through the Son Jesus Christ, the ONLY SAVIOUR of ALL CREATION.

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the

Father, even the Spirit of truth which proceedeth from the Father, he shall

testify of me:” (John 15:26)

The Holy Spirit’s continual aim in everything He does is to bring glory to Jesus Christ ONLY, for Jesus said the Holy Spirit “shall not speak of himself” (John 16:13), so that in ALL THINGS Jesus “might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18)

  • He guides us into all truth - “he will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13) so that we are able to KNOW The WORD, and being the author of the Bible, He is best qualified to interpret it to us.
  • He reveals Christ to us and in us - "he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” (John 16:14,15) so that we have the  knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
  • He teaches us all things - “teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26) so that we are able to BELIEVE The WORD.
  • He enables us to live the Word – “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the spirit.” (Galatians 5:25) by being obedient to the Head, Jesus Christ.
  • He teaches us how to “Walk in the spirit” (Galatians 5:16) while on our earthly journey.

That is, by believing and living through the Holy Spirit, whose goal is to present us to the Father complete in Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:28).  Paul encourages us in 2 Corinthians 3:18“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

No person can make special claims of obtaining power of the Holy Spirit through their “good works” i.e. baptism, confirmation, religious sacraments of any kind, as it has already been given us by the Lord Jesus Christ through His Grace, a “free gift” from above.  He paid our way through His shed blood which has cleansed us from all sin, “if we walk in the light” (I John 1:7) and when we sin, we confess it, repenting of it, and “he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins” (I John 1:9).  THIS IS HIS TRUTH!

We know not one of us can reach heaven by any other means, not by a man or a woman, nor by minister, preacher, priest, pope or religious (so called) “holy” person.  Certainly power has NEVER been given any human by which they can SAVE the souls of men.  Therefore, BEWARE of false religions and Satan’s angels of light who teach a false gospel of carnality, the kind that puts a yoke around your neck, i.e.,  attending church, tithing, being baptized, following a catechism, receiving sacraments, living a religion and following the traditions of men.  ALL must come to JESUS on HIS terms (Matthew 16:24-25), because there isn’t one human being on this earth who is able to negotiate his/her own salvation, nor anyone else’s, at a later date.  IT IS FINISHED!  “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)

As I’ve told you before, over and over, there are many new forms of religion out there, all married to “mammon”, and many claiming 16,000 seats filled to the brim at every service with people who are more than willing to follow these false teachers.  But, if you look at the many false teachers through the eyes of the Holy Spirit, you will see they are nothing more than hustlers and clowns on the same level as “snake oil salesmen”.  That’s right!  So, BEWARE such false teachers who are willing to sell you a sack of goods that could put your soul in hell.  Again, BEWARE!  These teach ANOTHER GOSPEL, NOT ONE OF FAITH, but of money, rules, works, and tradition, etc...  This revelry and materialism is the same as was in the days of Noah (Luke 17:26-27) and Lot (Luke 17:28-29), it is being repeated today.  LOOK AROUND YOU - AT THE EVIL IN THIS WORLD TODAY!    Satan is clever at “dumbing down” the people.   I teach you in LOVE about HIS GRACE which is FREE through JESUS CHRIST.  HE IS ALL WE NEED!  “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)

Being that He (Holy Spirit) is the AUTHOR of the Bible, in that He so guided the men in writing every word just as the Lord intended it to be (2 Timothy 3:15-17 and 2 Peter 1:21).   This is the reason that the Scripture refers to itself as the “Word of God.”  Therefore, if every work of Scripture is God’s Word, then every word is true (John 17:17), because God does not lie, nor does He err or contradict Himself in anything, as it would be impossible for the Spirit to teach us something different from the Word, or it is not the Word of God that we have, because He is TRUTH, so is HIS Word of the Bible.  Therefore, the Holy Spirit given us by Jesus Christ from the Father is best qualified to interpret it to us, teaching us that it is the Lord Jesus Christ’s contract or Covenant with man (us) and that all things will be according to His way, because He, as He was in the beginning, is in control of all things, even down to the final details of what – when – and how!

WE MUST realize that the Holy Spirit will never guide us in any way contrary to what the Scriptures say.  Jesus said: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” (John 6:63) WE MUST also realize that we are not to believe every spirit when a preacher/teacher claims their teaching is from God, but rather test the spirits according to the Scripture – WHAT DOES THE WORD SAY -  “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is the spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.”  (I John 4:1-3).  THIS IS WHAT THE WORD SAYS!

Did you know that not one of us can leave this world unless He allows it?  He knows ALL that are His!  Did He not tell the one thief on the cross: “Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43).  But, for all who are NOT His and are His enemy, BEWARE, for not one of these shall escape His wrath: “(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) (Philippians 3:18-19)  There is a price to pay for sin!  Have you been forgiven for yours?  Have you even repented and asked for forgiveness?
I’m sure there are many of you who do not realize that Jesus Christ was with God in the beginning and is the Creator of ALL that exists, the designer of life and light, and all things through HIM were completed.  Jesus is called the “Word” – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”  John 1:1-5.  Being that Jesus was the LIGHT… “…the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.  He was in the world, and the world was made by him [Jesus], and the world knew him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power [Holy Spirit] to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:9-13).

You see my friends, by the power of the Holy Spirit, all our questions have been answered and given us in the Word, therefore we must study to show ourselves approved (2 Tim. 2:15), believing what the Scripture says: “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” (Romans 10:10), and live (Romans 14:8) unto the Lord every day of our lives.  Our road will be straight through His truth freely given us, and the Holy Spirit who wrote it shall teach it to us and direct our walk, therefore “Walk in the Spirit” (Gal. 5:16).   Jesus Christ gave us the Holy Spirit for our spiritual wisdom and growth, and NO man, woman or child can find it any other way.  The Word, Jesus Christ, is the power and salvation, telling us that we must be born again in order to be in the Lamb’s Book of Life (John 3:3, 5, 7).

It is through grace (a gift of the Lord) by faith we are saved (Ephesians 2:5, 8).  Our grace through faith is not only a gift, but also a fruit of the Holy Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.  Meekness, temperance) (Galatians 5:22), which is the “work” of the Holy Spirit in us ... and also a part of our Christian armour (Ephesians 6:11-17); and, just by these things alone, we are able to see the importance of the power of the Holy Spirit in our Christian walk.

The Holy Spirit is ONE with the Father and the Son.  He’s our teacher, helper and guide.  He lives in all true believers of Jesus Christ.  It is He that Jesus gave us to provide us with the power to be witnesses/disciples of the “good news” of Jesus Christ to the entire world (John 14:15-18, 26; 16:13; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 5:18).  He is available to ALL who believe in and profess Jesus Christ as Saviour, so that we might experience the powerful reality and relationship of the LIVING CHRIST through the indwelling and ministry of His Holy Spirit.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.  For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” (James 1:5-8).

People, if any one wavers or is double minded between the interests of the flesh and the way of the Spirit – DO NOT THINK FOR ONE MINUTE that this person shall be saved or receive anything good of the Lord. I know them, Father/Son/Holy Spirit by HIS WORD.  Do you?  If NOT you ARE lost!  I cannot save you or anyone.  We are ALL sinners but can be put into a right relationship by faith in Jesus Christ ALONE.  Our salvation is a gift of the unconditional love (without compromise) of Jesus Christ, by His Grace, and it is available to all who, through their own free will, respond to the offer of Jesus Christ to salvation.  (Romans 3:23; 5:1-2; 6:11; 6:23; 10:9-11; Ephesians 2:8-9).   It’s entirely up to you whether you follow Jesus Christ or not.  If you choose to follow HIM ONLY, rejoice in the Lord, for His Spirit has begun a good work in you.  And, if you put faith in Jesus Christ ALONE for your salvation, you are born again - a new creation BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.  (John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17)
