God's Sword of Truth - The Word

Relationship of Jesus to the Father

By The Holy Spirit's Disciple, Raymond Laginess

MATTHEW 20:23 - "And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with; but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father."

MATTHEW 26:39 - "And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt."

MATTHEW 10:40 - "He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me."

JOHN 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. (14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth."

JOHN 3:34 - "For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God; for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. (35) The father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand."

JOHN 4:34 - "Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work."

JOHN 5:19 - "Then answered Jesus, and saith unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do; for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (20) For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth; and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. (21) For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. (22) For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son (23) That all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father which hath sent Him. (24) Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my Word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (25) Verily, Verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live. (26) For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; (27) And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. (28) Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, (29) And shall come forth, they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (30) I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. (31) If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. (37) Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. (45) Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust."

JOHN 6:32 - "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. (33) For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. (38) For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (39) And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (40) And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. (44) No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him; and I will raise him up at the last day. (45) It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. (46) Not that any man hath seen the Father, save He which is of God, he hath seen the Father."

JOHN 7:16 - "Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me. (28) Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but He that sent me is true, whom ye know not. (29) But I know him; for I am from him, and he hath sent me. (33) Then said Jesus unto them. Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto Him that sent me."

JOHN 8:16 - "And yet if I judge, my judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. (19) Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father; if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. (28) Then said Jesus unto them, when ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things (29) For I do always those things that please Him. (38) I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. (40) But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God; this did not Abraham. (42) Jesus said unto them, if God were your Father, ye would love me; for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. (49) Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honor my Father, and ye do dishonor me. (54) Jesus answered, If I honor myself, my honor is nothing; it is my Father that honoreth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God; (55) Yet ye have not known Him; but I know Him; and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you; but I know him, and keep His saying."

JOHN 9:4 - "I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day; the night cometh when no man can work."

JOHN 10:15 - "As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. (18) No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again. This commandment have I received of my Father. (25) Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not; the works that I do in my Father's name; they bear witness of me. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (30) I and my Father are one. (32) Jesus answered them, many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? (33) The Jews answered him, saying, for a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (36) Say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified, and sent into the world, thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? (37) If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. (38) But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works; that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in Him."

JOHN 11:41 - "Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. (42) And I knew that thou hearest me always; but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me."

JOHN 12:44 - "Jesus cried and said, he that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on Him that sent me. (49) For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. (50) And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak."

JOHN 14:7 - "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also; and from hence forth ye know him, and have seen him. (9) Jesus saith unto him, have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, show us the Father? (10) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (11) Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very work's sake. (12) Verily, Verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the work that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (13) And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (14) If ye shall ask anything in my name. I will do it. (20) At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. (24) He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings; and the Word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. (28) Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father; for my Father is greater than I. (31) But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence."

JOHN 15:9 - "As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you; continue ye in my love. (10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have keep my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (15) Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth; but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. (23) He that hateth me hateth my Father also. (24) If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin; but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. (25) But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, they hated me without a cause. (26) But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me."

JOHN 16:9 - "But now I go my way to Him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, whither goest thou? (10) Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more. (15) All things that the Father hath are mine; therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you. (23) And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, Verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. (25) These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs; but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. (27) For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. (28) I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world; again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. (32) Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me."

JOHN 17:1 - "These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee; (2) As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. (3) And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou has sent. (4) I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. (5) And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (6) I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world; thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. (7) Now they have known all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. (8) For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me. (9) I pray for them; I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. (10) And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. (11) And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. (12) While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scriptures might be fulfilled. (13) And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. (14) I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (15) I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. (16) They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. (17) Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth. (18) As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. (19) And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. (20) Neither pray I these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; (21) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (22) And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one. (23) I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. (24) Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me; for thou lovest me before the foundation of the world. (25) O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee; but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. (26) And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it; that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them."

ACTS 2:33 - "Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (28) And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all."

II COR. 4:4 - "In whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.
